I have wanted to make this ever since I saw it over here on Michaela's blog. I think it is such a clever way to display pictures or note cards, or even just have a place to put those coupons that you always lose or the phone number that one guy gave you...Hehehe...just kidding, or maybe not... ;)
Materials:
Picture frame (I used an 18" x 24" frame from Target)
Paint / Paint brush
Scissors
Enough fabric to cover the frame x2
Hot Glue Gun
Twine
Tape Measure
Clothespins

First off, don't you just love my palette? So many adventures have come across here and been painted.
Anyways, first you take everything out of the frame and paint it like crazy. I think I ended up with 4 layers of white to cover all the black.

Leaving the frame to dry, you then lay your fabric out flat and put the frame backing on top of it. Start cutting around the frame leaving about 1/2 an inch of extra fabric to fold over the back.

Once you cut out the fabric, you can start gluing the fabric over the edge of the backing.

I used 2 separate pieces of fabric because the backing of the frame was pretty dark and I didn't want the dark to come through the fabric.

Once you have the fabric adhered, you can cut 2 pieces of twine the same length and glue them to the back of the frame backing. To make sure they are straight, use a measuring tape.

Reattach the frame and put on your clothespins and pictures.

Those dinosaurs are the first to go. I have been stuck on how to design our room for what seems like ages, even though it's only been 2 years. Seriously though, if you shared a room with your 2 year old son, how would you design it? Would you make it completely about him and design it for a child, or would you design it only for yourself? And if you choose to design it for both of you, how in the heck do you do that without the design getting scrambled and confused?
I finally figured it out. I just have to design it for both of us, but keep it sort of neutral, which is a huge challenge for me, because I usually like bold things. I have purple walls, a mountain on one of them, and dinosaurs on the other 2. Wish me luck in my endeavor to fill my room with all things creative and inspiring. Wish me luck in my pursuit to be consumed by everything I love. :)
