I've had these naked soup cans for a while, and finally decided to just dive in and decorate them. I love the idea of recycling old cans or jars, and these are the perfect storage containers for my paint brushes.

Materials:
Clean soup cans
Paint
Covered space to paint on (I use paper bags by cutting them in half)
Paint brush
Painter's tape

I needed about 3 coats of white using the Martha Stewart craft paint.

I couldn't find our painter's tape, so I freehanded the chevron, which you can do, I just think it would have turned out a little more crisp and clean if painter's tape had been used.

Super cute right? I definitely love them and am so glad I finally decided to paint them. They have been naked for a long time. I find sometimes when I craft, or am thinking about crafting, it's hard to start because I can't decide on which thing to do. Once you get past all the ideas, and just pick a design and stick with it, I find the end result is a good one. :)
Are there any crafts you've been thinking about doing lately?

Love this DIY, too. I might actually be able to do this one! ;)
I love them. This is such a simple and easy diy, but with such a great payoff. Beautiful pictures, too :)

Brilliant! I'm always sad when I throw away good jars or cans I could have used for storage. This is a great way to repurpose them! Love it.
Love chevron right now and this will be perfect for my office! Visiting from Insp Gallery Linky party.
Assuming I ever get my craft room set up... I think these would be a perfect fit!
